LIMITED EDITION TYPE & IMAGE PROJECT

An annual project that is undertaken in the Print Workshop each year is a collaborative 3rd Year project where students work in pairs to produce limited edition prints on a commemorative or topical theme. These prints are then contained in a customised portfolio which houses all the prints produced on that theme. The National Library of Ireland, the Rare Books Department of Trinity College Dublin, and the National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL) all purchase these portfolios on an annual basis for their collections.

The themes of the various portfolios follow:
‘A Celebration of the First Decade of the New Century’ (2010-2011)
‘Reasons to Be Cheerful’ A celebration of the music of Ian Drury (2009-2010)
‘William Blake: Visions of William Blake’s Poems’ (2008-2009)
‘Heaney at Seventy’ A commemoration of poet Seamus Heaney’s 70th birthday (2007-2008)
‘Yeats: The Life and Works of William Butler Yeats’ (2006-2007)
‘Joy Division: Three Decades Later’ (2005-2006)
‘The Sixtieth Anniversary of the Liberation of Auswitz’ (2004-2005)
‘Celebration of James Joyce’s Ulysses’ (2003-2004)
