Brendon Deacy 'The State We're Out' 1987
is a ‘novel without words’ and suite of prints which tells the story of Brendon's father’s emigration from the West of Ireland in 1951 and his subsequent experiences. The ‘artist’s book’, with its foreword by Roddy Doyle, was printed by letterpress and came in an edition of fifty two copies which have all been sold. Individual prints, which have been printed in an edition of fifteen are still available in small numbers.
